gentrification in progress

The neighborhood of Sant Antoni, around the market of the same name, had always been famous for its bars where do the vermouth on weekends, that is to say, have a drink and eat some tapas (small portions of food).

In recent years the neighborhood is being gentrified, just as it happened before in the old city. The rents do not stop going up and fashionable shops and restaurants appear everywhere. In particular Sant Antoni is the hipster district par excellence of Barcelona.

You can start the visit through the Mercat de Sant Antoni, which has just been fully renovated and is spectacular.

But we here come basically to eat. We have a sweet sin in La Donutería (Parlament 20), where they prepare some delicious donuts daily.

But as we said the typical thing is to come to do the vermouth. Most bars are on Parlament street, but our favorite is Sant Antoni Gloriós (Manso 42): the best patatas bravas (potatoes with spicy sauce) in town!
