The first was built by the Romans, as we have in <a href=\"https:\/\/barcelona.traba.org\/index.php\/2018\/07\/09\/where-it-all-began\/\">this post<\/a>. The second was built in the 13th century and surrounded everything that is now the old city district.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This wall was demolished in 1860 to build the Eixample district. The building was rebuilt in the 20th century and we do not know what it was like in medieval times, but it is spectacular anyway.
