In Barcelona it is very common what is called “hacer el vermut”, which consists of sitting on a terrace about 12 or 1 (here you eat later, between 2 and 3) and have a beer with a small “tapa”(a small portion of food).<\/p>\n

Our perfect plan for a ‘vermut’ is to go to Calle Allada Vermell, and sit on the terrace of Casa Paco (number 10). You can get there by Carders street (the good option) or by Princesa street (the bad one).<\/p>\n

Go soon (about 11am for example) because then it gets full. Children can play in the playground while you drink something.<\/p>\n

When it’s time for lunch, our favorite plan is to order sushi right next door, at the Yamane restaurant (they open at 1:30). You order it at the restaurant and they serve it to you at your Casa Paco table! A very authentic place, and a delicious sushi.\u00a0You can also order to take away.<\/p>\n

You can combine it with some food from Casa Paco, or even with a pizza from Pizza Paco (Allada Vermell 11). In this case you ask for the pizza and in a while you go to look for it and you eat it at your table.<\/p>\n

When you finish, as they do not serve coffee, you can walk 5 minutes to go to the bar of the Convent de Sant Agust\u00ed Vell (Comer\u00e7 36, but you have a better entrance through the Pla\u00e7a de l’Acad\u00e8mia). Beware that Sunday is closed. This place is spectacular, the bar has a terrace in what was the cloister of a medieval convent. It is usually quiet, and children can play in the cloister without danger. A very nice place at any time. Mesclad\u00eds (Carders 35) is also nice.<\/p>\n

If what you are looking for is a good dessert in the area, head to Otafuku (Princesa 41) for a good japanese one. They are somehow connected to Yamane. Very authentic place.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
